The days of my childhood that were the happiest were filled with music. My parents had different taste. My Mom a Heart and Jackson Browne fanatic. My Pop was into Blood Sweat and Tears, Marvin Gaye and the Eagles. I loved listening to music in the car, basement or wherever the tape or record was spinning. I have a vague memory of AM radio. I especially have a profound memory of my first transistor radio. Records were always my favorite.
Still are. About 6 years ago I picked up a cheap turntable and started collecting records. I was in the worm hole for sure.
The esthetics of watching the licorice pizza spin around on a platter and music shooting out of it makes up for the vagueness of streaming. Kids are getting into it. Emersyn (the namesake of this site) already enjoys it. I love the comeback.
My granddaughter knows when that her Grand Pa is home there will be music. There will be dancing. There will be fun!!! It’s pretty fun to play music and enjoy it with her like my Grand Pops did with me. Surprisingly she likes Louis Armstrong too!!!! Satchmo forever! She likes the Beatles and Taylor Swift. She’s 3 years old at the inception of this domain.

It will be fun to see where this music journey takes us. Jenny and Emersyn put up with me and my insane record collecting hobby. Hell, they encourage it! Jenny might even dance with us one day. She probably already does when no one is watching. 🙂
Cheers!!
This will be fun sharing my love for records and the stories that artist store on them. The complete body of work found on a long play record. There may be nothing better my friends.
